Recreational Scooters
Monster Motor Scooter highly recommends electric scooters for recreational use. Electric scooters possess many advantages over their gas powered counterparts:
Reliability
Electric scooters by design are very simple vehicles that are reliable, easy to maintain, and easy to troubleshoot. Reliability and dependability of electric scooters far exceed that of gas scooters, and parts are readily available and inexpensive.
Power
An electric scooter typically has more low end torque than a gas scooter and will have a comparable top speed. There is a perception by some that electric scooters do not have as much power as gas scooters, but that is not true.
Recreational gas scooters are relatively small, and with a maximum 2-stroke gas engine size of 52cc, the overall power output of gas vs. electric scooters is comparable.
Noise
As recreational scooters (not approved for road use), the typical area of use for most will be in and around your home and neighborhood. Electric scooters are quiet with very little noise but a for the low hum of the electric motor. By contrast, 2-stroke gas engines are noisy. Think of the noise generated by a 2-stroke engine gas hedge trimmer, weed whacker, or chain saw.
Environment
Electric scooters are emission free and do not use gasoline. By design 2-stroke engines are relatively dirty engines that output a significant level of pollutants. The State of California will no longer allow 2-stroke gas engines to be sold in their state. Electric scooters are equipped with two or three sealed lead acid batteries that typically have a lifespan of 2-3 years, and the scooter batteries are fully recyclable with recycling facilities in virtually every local area of the United States.

X-Treme X-360 350 Watt Electric Scooter
The X-Treme X-360 is one of our top sellers. The now classic body styling is a favorite of children and young adults alike. This 36 volt 350 watt scooter has been around for years with a proven track record of reliability and fun for all ages.
The manufacturer states a top speed of 17-21 MPH with a weight rating of 300 lbs. However, it has been the experience of Monster Motor Scooter that those ratings are only achieved in ideal situations, ie. very light rider, level terrain, etc. It has been our experience that the X-Treme X-360 will struggle a bit on mild hills with a 200+ lb. adult rider. Adults will see top speeds lower than 17 MPH.
The X-Treme X-360 is great for children and lightweight young adults. For larger bodies, consider moving up to a 600 watt – 1000 watt electric scooter.
X-Treme X-600 High Performance 600 Watt Electric Scooter
The X-Treme X-600 is a relatively new comer to the electric scooter market, with first production in 2008. Since its introduction, it has been shown to be a great mid level electric scooter for adults and children. Also 36 volts, but with a 600 watt electric motor, you’ll find the X-Treme X-600 can handle slight grades with ease, even with adult riders.
The manufacturer states a top speed of 23 MPH with a weight rating of 330 lbs. However, it has been the experience of Monster Motor Scooter that those ratings are only achieved in ideal situations, ie. very light rider, level terrain, etc. Heavier riders will see a top speed less than 23 MPH but will be very pleased with the overall performance of the X-Treme X-600. If slight hills and grades are in your area, the X-600 is the electric scooter choice over the X-360. If you are a heavy rider and you may encounter slight hills or more significant grades, consider upgrading to the eZip 1000 Series electric scooter.
The X-600 is the most powerful electric scooter offered by X-Treme Scooters.
eZip 1000 Series 1000 Watt Electric Scooter
The eZip 1000 electric scooter is the most powerful electric scooter on the market. With a 36 volt 1000 watt drive train, the eZip 1000 will transport adults as well as children with ease. In addition to an abundance of power, the eZip 1000 electric scooter is the only scooter on the market with the patented Currie direct drive motor, which is directly geared to the rear wheel and fully enclosed. There is no chain to slip off or break, no sprocket to clog with dirt and debris, etc.
The manufacturer states a top speed of 15 MPH with a weight rating of 260 lbs. for the eZip 1000. This difference in rating as compared to other makes and models is due to the differences in rating system between the different manufacturers. Make no mistake; the eZip 1000 electric scooter is by far the most powerful electric scooter we offer with the best low end torque and top speed.
This model of scooter has been around for years, but branded under different model names. Previously this direct drive 36 volt electric scooter was marketed as a Schwinn Stealth 1000, Schwinn S1000, IZIP Stealth 1000, and IZIP I1000.

The ScooterX Dirt Dog has been around for years, and the ScooterX line of gas scooters had demonstrated exceptional reliability that exceeds other manufacturers.
